A desire for a role with greater societal impact met with personal life events led me from accounting to law where I sought a deeper understanding of legal and societal dynamics, along with the power of advocacy. Beyond altering my academic focus, this shift expanded my professional outlook and ethos.
Drawing from my academic experience, the principles of courage, analytical depth, and straightforward candor now permeate all aspects of my professional life.
Professional Evolution
Equipped with the experience of law firm management and accounting, I opened my law firm the moment I passed the Florida bar- specializing in Estate Planning, Probate, Family, and Business Law. Yet, amidst the victories and challenges, I came to understand that the traditional practice of law was not my calling. So, as one does when they need a little career guidance, I visited a psychic who read my Cuban coffee and directed me toward the stage. I took my first improvisational theater class, shut down my law firm shortly after, and the rest is history.
Improvisation was where I learned to marry unbridled creativity with strategic and analytical thinking. This transition represented more than just a career pivot— it was an awakening to my unique ability to harmonize the analytical with the artistic.
Creative Leap
The decision to close my law practice marked a new beginning, leading me into the vibrant worlds of media, film, live theater, and professional touring as an improvisor and speaker. These experiences have reinforced the value of creative ingenuity and authenticity as guiding principles on my continued journey.
